From the President:

Wow, it’s September already! I feel like we just slipped into summer! I hope everyone had a safe and productive and fun-filled summer! We’re gearing up for the start of our new calendar year and I’d like everyone to take a deep breath and think about what you’d like to accomplish for the year. Don’t focus on any failed milestones or goals from this past year. Start now. Think about where you want to be when we have our May meeting, then break that down into smaller, achievable milestones. Bring the first one to the meeting tomorrow which will be your goal to complete for October’s meeting. We can all get to where we want to go if we set out realistic, achievable goals. Good luck and see you tomorrow!

2014-2015 MWG President

Upcoming Events/Opportunities:

Our next monthly meeting is this THURSDAY, September 4, in the first floor meeting room of the West Regional Library from 6-7:30pm. The presenters at the first meeting of our new calendar year will be–YOU! We’d like to kick off the first meeting by reacquainting ourselves and introducing new folks. If you have published books, please feel free to bring them to sell and be prepared to give a SHORT elevator pitch (1-2 succinct sentences). Even if you don’t have published books, we want you to introduce yourselves. Let us know what you’ve been up to, what projects and goals you have planned for the upcoming year! We’ll also see if anyone is interested in forming critique groups.

Page and Palette will be having their First Friday Author Roundup First with Ken Kilner, Philip Levin, Warren Freeman, Jacqueline Schnitzer this FRIDAY, September 5. For more information, visit: http://www.pageandpalette.com/event/first-friday-author-round-philip-levin

NY Times bestselling author Charles Martin will be having a Book Signing and Author Discussion THURSDAY, September 11th at 6pm at the Celebration Church of Fairhope. Tickets to the event are free and available to pick up at the bookstore. This $10 value is a gift to the community compliments of Page & Palette and Celebration Church.
